Cleaning by Professional Dentist is still the mainstay to achieve good Oral health because during this time , all calcular deposits (tartar) that causes gum problems are removed and new dental decays or cavities can be discovered. Early detection through regular cleaning will lead to early prevention.
Fluoridisation
Fluoridisation is a procedure done to young and even adult patients to strengthen the tooth’s defence to oral bacteria that causes tooth decay and tooth demineralization (minerals are slowly dying). Young children needs to have this procedure at the of 3, 7, 11 and 16 respectively for stronger, healthy teeth. Adults who have enamel problems needs this treatment too.
Pit and Fissure Sealants
Young and adult molars normally have natural deep grooves and pits on top of molar teeth. These grooves catches food and if not brushed thoroughly, this will lead to tooth decay. Sealants are resin composed filling material just for the grooves to seal them to prevent tooth decays. These are placed very thinly on.
